Supporting Children and Youth to Grieve After Suicide Loss
CMHA/PEI has developed a new resource kit, “Supporting Children and Youth to Grieve After Suicide Loss”, to help parents and caregivers support children and youth who have experienced the loss of a loved one to suicide. The kit will help explain death and suicide to children and youth using language and concepts they understand and offers a variety of activities to assist them in working through some of the feelings associated with suicide loss.
The new kit is available in two formats; a virtual kit and in hard-copy. Below is our virtual kit that includes pdf documents matching the hard copy kit that you may print off for use at home, along with additional resources. To request more information, contact Julia, the Director of Community Education and Peer Support.

Before introducing any of the materials in the kit to a child or youth, we encourage you to review the Parent/Caregiver Booklet. It will help you to gain a better understanding of the unique needs of children and youth who are grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide.
