Housing Programs

Housing First is a federally funded program that supports episodically and chronically homeless individuals to find safe, affordable housing in the community. The program is centered on moving individuals quickly into independent living and the Housing First team supports participants with the development of life skills to ensure long-term success. The Housing First program requires individuals to meet with their workers at a minimum weekly to explore goal setting, create an action plan, and search for housing. READ MORE

Housing Outreach provides support to secure and maintain independent housing in the community to individuals experiencing mental health and addictions, in partnership with Health PEI. Individuals will be encouraged to maintain appropriate mental health support to aid in their recovery and to support them to sustain independent housing. The Outreach team will further assist in their independence by meeting with them weekly, and by teaching life skills such as budgeting, cleaning, etc.  READ MORE

Transitional Housing assists individuals with mental health and/or addictions to move towards being independent increasing the likelihood of housing stability within the community.

West Prince Housing takes a Housing First Approach and aims to help individuals in the community find suitable housing. The team at West Prince Housing helps with basic housing start-up needs like utility hook up, finding furniture, linens, dishes etc. The team works in all communities west of Summerside, with the main office located in Alberton.
