Most of us go through life solving our day-to-day problems without needing help to cope with our feelings. But a severe illness, an accident or an emotional crisis can overwhelm us, at least temporarily, and suddenly we need help. In this section, you will find resources and tips on getting help when you need it most.

Need help figuring out what to do?
You can call Island Helpline day or night at 1-800-218-2885.
Do you need medical advice?
Contact your General Practitioner for a referral to a qualified mental health care professional.
Visit a mental health walk-in clinic. Mental health walk-in clinics offer immediate mental health support to help with anxiety, as well as life events causing stress and other mental health issues. No appointment or referral is required. You will be able to see a registered mental health therapist for 45-60 minutes. There is no cost for this service.
There are clinics available to the general public in Charlottetown, Summerside and O’Leary. Residents of Lennox Island and students of Westisle in Elmsdale also have walk-in clinics available for their use. Click HERE for a full list of locations and hours of operation.
