CMHA’s 8th Annual Summerside Spring Gala fundraiser

April 10, 2024

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CMHA’s 8th Annual Summerside Spring Gala fundraiser coming up April 25 at Credit Union Place Summerside—The Canadian Mental Health Association PEI Division (CMHA PEI) is holding its 8th Annual Summerside Spring Gala on Thursday, April 25 at 7:00pm at the Veteran’s Convention Centre in Credit Union Place. The event is sponsored by Prince Edward Aqua Farms and is one of CMHA’s major fundraisers of the year.

CMHA’s Annual Spring Gala is an event that provides insight into the impact that Notre Dame Place and Hope Centre Clubhouses as well as the West Prince Housing Program have on individuals in the Prince County region of PEI. It also brings awareness to mental health issues while raising funds for CMHA PEI.

This year’s event will be hosted by Jill Chandler, Co-Host of Ocean 100’s Morning Show and will feature performances from Island musicians, Louise and Jonny Ray Arsenault. Guest speaker for the evening will be Maurice “Moe” Hashie, a local life coach. Moe will be speaking about his own personal story around mental health, and how he managed to navigate the biggest challenge in his life, the grief of losing a child. Moe’s touching story is about what helped him and his family get through their loss and their sense of hope and renewed joy. The event also features a catered dinner from Five Eleven West Restaurant in Summerside and an on-site silent auction.

CMHA PEI Executive Director, Shelley Muzika, says, “We’re looking forward to another successful Spring Gala. There is an incredible amount of organization that goes into events like these. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our hardworking volunteers on the organizing committee for their time and dedication to this event. We’d also like to recognize our Signature Sponsor, Prince Edward Aqua Farms for their continued support of this event and other CMHA events over the last several years. This event wouldn’t be possible without the support of our sponsors and to all of the businesses and individuals who contribute through donations, silent auction items and prizes.”

If you would like more information on the Spring Gala and to purchase tickets, please visit the event page at: https://pei.cmha.ca/summerside-spring-gala/ or call the CMHA PEI Division office at 902-566-3034. All proceeds raised stays on PEI and goes directly to CMHA PEI’s programs and services.
